Service Builder
Bargersville church of Christ
What this app keeps about you
The Service Builder is how the song leaders put together each service. It is run by Austin Malherbe for the congregation. It is not part of the church website.
If you can sign in
- Your name, email address and whether you are an admin. This stays for as long as you are on the list. An admin can take you off it, and then it is gone.
- A cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days. It is the only cookie the app sets.
- If you ask to learn a song, your email address is kept with that request until the request is removed.
If you are on the duty roster
- Your name as it appears on the roster, and the services you are down for.
- For reminders, your mobile number and, if given, your email address. These are entered by an admin and used only to remind you the day before you serve.
- Reminder texts are sent through Twilio, a texting service, which keeps its own record of each message it delivers. Reply STOP to any reminder and no more will be sent to you.
When you sign in
- The server log records the time, the first letter of your address and its domain, for example a…@gmail.com. Your full address is not written to the log.
- To stop anyone sending sign-in emails over and over, your network address is held in memory for 15 minutes. It is never written to disk.
Who can see it, and where it is
Admins of your congregation can see the sign-in list and the duty roster. Austin can see everything, because he runs the server. Nothing is sold or shared, there is no advertising, and nothing on these pages tracks you.
It is kept on one server, and a backup copy is kept for 14 days on Austin's computer.
Questions, or to be taken off
Ask Austin, in person or by email. He will remove you from the sign-in list, the roster directory, or both.
